CARA ZHANG
Founder, Lead Designer and In-House Artist
Cara is a multi-talented designer and illustrator who finished education in New York as well as an alumna of Fashion Institute of Technology and currently based in Texas. From a young age, she was a dedicated sketcher and painter, eventually mastering watercolor. Building on 7 years of collaboration, she seamlessly integrates gorgeous venue illustrations and floral motifs into elegant wedding stationery.
As the founder and lead designer behind Illusdreams, she had been exploring in fashion design and backstage makeup artistry before starting her invitation design journey. Cara is always a big dreamer - who loves to create, develop and proudly established a boutique studio with our lovely printing facilities.
Our distinctive aesthetics reflects Cara’s ethnic and educational background and the inspiration from vintage photographs, impressionist paintings, nature scenes, ancient Chinoiserie elements and European architecture. The only thing she loves more than design and illustration is her 6 adorable guinea pigs. In the demanding world of creative work, where deadlines and critique can take their toll, her guinea pigs are a quiet, unconditional joy.
We are proud of making our unique stationery by combining fine art creation, modern design and old-world printing. Some of our equipments are from the late 1850s and 1970s. Our work is 100% hands on in order to accomplish the nature of these antique presses, and we make sure that every single piece of card we create is carefully examined with a high-quality standard before shipping.
We love the raw texture of handmade paper and believe it is an unique, evocative and timeless style of wedding stationery — started from fragments, pulps, dyeing, and time-to-finish craftsmanship to completion.
